The Balto® Body Lift is a comprehensive supportive device designed for dogs experiencing limited mobility and impaired motor function due to accident, illness, or the natural aging process. This ventilated compression brace, constructed from a non-neoprene fabric, offers stability and assistance to your canine's spinal column while maintaining its normal range of motion. The brace additionally allows for regular elimination. This comprehensive orthopedic brace is a superb choice for canines requiring supplementary hip reinforcement while upholding an active lifestyle.
BRACE APPLICATIONS
- Support neurological conditions that affect mobility: Degenerative myelopathy (DM), Cervical Vertebral Instability (CVI), Invertebral Disc Disease (IVDD), Spondylosis Deformans (SD)
- Alternative to the use of a towel or other household item which is known to cause abdominal injury to pets, or strain to the user supporting

BRACE FEATURES
- Two removable rigid stays; run laterally alongside the body in side pockets to provide added structural support the the spinal column in cases of neurological disease.
- The brace can also be used without splints for conditions such as inflammation, soreness, arthritis, and arthrosis.
- Compression helps increase blood flow in the affected area, which helps reduce stiffness, pain, and inflammation
- Adjustable straps can be lengthened or shortened on the leg to ensure an excellent fit and disperse weight across the body

Recommended for all ages unless otherwise advised by veterinarians. Apply brace for balanced increments of time, if appropriate, for pets under the age of 2 to prevent possible growth disturbances.

Instructions for Use
Step 1
Prepare the brace by opening the straps and positioning the brace close to the dog's front legs. The front of the brace should touch the armpits (Fig. 1).
Step 2
Pull the brace up around the dog and secure all the Velcro straps by passing them through the buckles. The number of Velcro straps and buckles vary depending on size. Secure the Velcro Strap over the front of the chest by passing it through the buckle. (Fig. 2-4).
Step 3
Starting from the inside, bring the Velcro straps around each leg. Secure the Velcro straps by passing them through the buckle. Be careful not to overtighten (Fig. 5 & 6).
Step 4
The length of the handles can be adjusted to suit your height. Just loosen the Velcro straps and adjust to make them longer or shorter, allowing you to walk in a natural position alongside the dog (Fig. 7).
Step 5
Once the brace is in place, it’s time to attach the handles. To position the handles, locate the dog’s center of gravity so that when you lift the dog, it stays level and doesn’t tilt forward or back (Fig. 8).
Tips & Tricks
- Allow up to two weeks for your pet to fully accept the brace
- Wear the brace for 30 minutes a day, increasing 30 minutes each day after, for up to 12 hours
- Consult your veterinarian for specific instructions on when to wear your brace
- Remove the brace when your animal sleeps at night
- Inspect your pet for signs of skin irritation. If any are present, contact your veterinarian
- In addition to wiping the brace clean, keep skin and fur that comes into contact with the brace clean
- Inspect your brace regularly for any damage

Maintenance & Repair
A clean brace not only prevents infections, irritation, and a stinky smell; but it also allows your brace to last longer. To help support the longevity of your bracing device, here are some of our tips on how to properly clean your orthopedic bracing:
- Remove as much hair as possible from any Velcro® frequently to prevent compaction.
- Use lint roller or lightly adhesive tape to remove hair from the material of the brace.
- By hand, use warm water and a gentle cleansing soap to remove any stains and odors.
- Rinse soap thoroughly from the brace
- Hang to dry. Once the brace is completely dry, it is ready for use!
