The Balto^® Hock is utilized to treat hock discomfort, lameness, and neuromuscular issues. This canine hock brace is a great solution for canines with restricted mobility due to Achilles tendon or hock injuries. Crafted from non-neoprene material, this breathable compression wrap offers support and stabilization to the hind limbs of your canine companion while maintaining an unrestricted gait. Non-neoprene braces from Balto® are constructed from superior materials; neoprene is notorious for harboring pathogens, offering insufficient support, and deteriorating rapidly. A range of dimensions guarantees a snug fit. A no-pinch product.

Recommended for all ages, unless veterinarians advise otherwise. When applicable, apply the brace in proportionate increments of time for animals under the age of two to avoid potential growth disruptions.

Instructions for Use

Step 1

Prepare the brace by opening the straps (Fig. 1).

Step 2

Position the brace by lining up the splints with the hock (tarsus) (Fig. 2) and secure all the Velcro straps (starting with the bottom strap) around the leg (Fig. 3).

Step 3

Tightly close with the Velcro straps.

Tips & Tricks

Allow up to two weeks for your pet to fully accept the brace
Wear the brace for 30 minutes a day, increasing 30 minutes each day after, for up to 12 hours
Consult your veterinarian for specific instructions on when to wear your brace
Remove the brace when your animal sleeps at night
Inspect your pet for signs of skin irritation. If any are present, contact your veterinarian
In addition to wiping the brace clean, keep skin and fur that comes into contact with the brace clean
Inspect your brace regularly for any damage

Remove as much hair as possible from any Velcro^® frequently to prevent compaction.
Use lint roller or lightly adhesive tape to remove hair from the material of the brace.
By hand, use warm water and a gentle cleansing soap to remove any stains and odors.
Rinse soap thoroughly from the brace
Hang to dry. Once the brace is completely dry, it is ready for use!

Hock Brace
I bought this brace from Europe over 9 years ago for my black Labrador/husky cross when she injured her hind leg chasing through brush. It was very helpful, and worked well with the Jump brace too. At that time there was not a Canadian outlet. We now have a 7yr Anatolian shepherd who has done the same thing. She has had the hock brace on for just two days while outside and is starting to bear weight on it again. I will be getting a right leg jump brace to assist in her recovery.

Disappointed
We got the hock brace for our golden with a torn/ruptured achilles tendon. We measured correctly using the sites directions. We purchsed the large size for a 92 lb golden. Unfortunately the brace slips down her leg continuously and doesn't offer her the support she needs for her i jury. The brace then jams into her toes which is causing another injury. We had high hopes for this brace but it was a failure immediately. I would have expected this from a 50 dollar brace on
Amazon. The customer service is frustrating as well. You get 30 days of help but what they don't tell you is there is no number to call. To speak with someone. You have to send an email and wait and wait hoping someone will call you or email you back. I need the help now, not a week from now! Unfortunately we have an expensive piece of junk on our hands. I will not be recommending this to anyone.
